TRACO
has enriched its Window Wall offering to include additional 4-5/8” products and
an accessories package featuring receptor, subsill and mullions that provide
enhanced performance, ease of installation and additional cost savings. The
TRACO Window Wall system was designed to provide an alternative to conventional
Curtain Wall projects to meet the market requirements of aesthetics,
ventilation, flexibility, cost and speed. The TRACO Window Wall system designed
primarily for high-rise applications includes the enhanced
TR-8300
Sliding Glass Door, TR-8900 Terrace Door, TR-6300 Sliding Glass Window and
TR-700 Casement/Projected/Fixed Series.
The
TRACO window wall system provides the aesthetic appearance desired for a
curtain wall application while offering numerous benefits and significant cost
savings,” explains Josh Early, Architectural Product Manager for TRACO.
TRACO
Window Wall differs from curtain wall in that curtain wall will install in
front of the slab whereas window wall will span the slab heights but install
between the slabs. This difference has significant influences to the overall
cost, schedule, quality and risk to individual project stakeholders.
Quality
is greatly enhanced, when compared to site built curtain wall in that all
frames are fabricated, assembled and glazed in a controlled environment of
generally an automated manufacturing facility.
TRACO
Window Wall, like curtain wall, offers high performance, with respect to design
requirements including air infiltration, water resistance and the ability for
the system to meet required design pressures building displacements both
vertical and lateral. Unlike curtain wall, TRACO Window Wall will enhance sound
attenuation
by the elimination of continuous members that span the building height, which
may resonate sound that originates a lower levels and emitting that sound thru
the interior tube of typical curtain walls. By significantly reducing floor to
floor and room to room sound transmission adds to the multi-family application
advantages.
