TRACO C: Designing With Broken Glass

Participants will discuss and have a better understanding of the “New” performance requirements for Hurricane/Impact rated fenestration products in coastal applications. This includes discussion on the effects of the current International Building Codes (IBC) and how it has been influenced by ASCE-7. Each participant will gain knowledge on the application of these new codes and regulations, how they will affect manufacturers, bid documents and how to properly approach design and performance objectives.

TRACO D: Aluminum Entrance & Storefront Design

This presentation will be a general overview of Aluminum Entrances & Storefront design. Learning objectives include: Basic requirements to accommodate traffic, plus the effects of wind, rain and temperature variations; Checklists for safety, security, ease of operation and construction; Suggestions for good entrance design; Data on frames and framing, as well as selection of various types of entrance systems and their operating features.

TRACO G: Designing With Blast Resistant Windows

This presentation covers Blast Mitigation and its consequences for fenestration in buildings. An introduction into bomb/blast effects will demonstrate the specific design response required for a given threat level. Learning objections include understanding force protection and the role that windows play, how blast resistant products differ from traditional fenestration, and the performance and testing standards required. The importance of proper installation and anchorage will be covered as well.

TRACO H: Thermoplastic Spacer Systems

The participants of this presentation will gain a better understanding of the benefits of Thermoplastic Spacer Systems in lieu of metal spacers. The four learning objectives are: What is TPS?; The options and flexibility in design that only TPS can bring to your designs; What makes TPS so effective?; The ultimate “warm edge” system.
1 Hour = 1 Health, Safety & Welfare (HSW/SD) Learning Unit (LU)
TRACO I: LEED® Certification: Green Buildings Incorporating Fenestration Products

This presentation takes an innovative approach to optimizing the use of Aluminum Fenestration products as an integral component of a LEED® Certified project. Objectives include an overview of environmentally friendly manufacturing practices, as well as, the impact of fenestration and daylighting on design, energy consumption and productivity. Participants will acquire a better understanding of how, and in which category, aluminum fenestration products can contribute towards achieving LEED® points and certification.

TRACO J: Window Wall

This presentation will provide an overview and awareness of a window wall system along with demonstrating its application in the market. The learning objectives of the presentation
are to define what a window wall system is, how it compares to storefront and curtain wall, the features and benefits of the window wall system, and review case studies demonstrating its application.
