The Industry and Our Future
Are you familiar with the new AAMA 101 Standard?
One of the major items in the new AAMA/WDMA/CSA 101/I.S.2/A440-08 - NAFS – (North American Fenestration Standard/Specification) for windows, doors, and skylights is the reduction of the number of window and door performance classes.
The window and door classes change from five to four by eliminating the C (Commercial) and HC (Heavy Commercial) classes and adding the CW (Commercial Window).

| C | CW |
| HC | CW |
| AW | AW |
The new CW classification will be used in typical HC applications where larger sizes, higher loading requirements, limits on deflection, and heavy use are expected.
